Coorina/CROCODILE ROCK
DESCRIPTION
Along the 600m contour, as well as The Lookout at the Springs, the expansive cave shelter of Rocky Whelan, Sphinx Rock, White Rock, Black Rock—and many other outcrops— is Crocodile Rock. You pass below Crocodile Rock on Hunters Track. Looking absolutely nothing like a crocodile, it is far better understood as a sandstone buttress rich in white quartz cemented during the Triassic-era millions of years past.
